Last week, I got two new bikinis from the SS 2016 “Dream” Collection by Miami Bikini Shop. As a South Miami Beach resident, bikinis are in season all year long and I’m very particular about my swimwear— even if summer is fading away! In the video below, I share my first impression as I open a mysterious girly pink package from Miami Bikini Shop!
If you’ve never heard of Miami Bikini Shop, let me first tell you a little about this ambitious company. Miami Bikini Shop is a vertically integrated manufacturer, distributor and retailer of branded fashion apparel and accessories for women and men. While bikinis are a major focal point, they also sell high-quality beach cover-ups, yoga and fitness apparel, T-shirts, and ready-to-wear nightlife clothing. They operate a wholesale segment with apparel products sold to distributors and third-party screen printers around the world as well.
Now that I’ve had time to give their bikinis a test drive personally, I want to share additional details about the Miami Bikini Shop swimwear line such as sizing, comfort, and wearability.
The Aztec Dream Bikini shown here is the Tie Side Brazilian option (this design is also available with Itsy Bikini Brief bottoms.) What I really love about this bikini, besides the gorgeous South American-inspired tribal pattern, is the cut of the bottoms. The ruffled edges and thick ribbon ties will flatter a wide range of body types and will be easily adjustable if your weight fluctuates a little bit. This scrunchy butt style is a particularly good choice for women who want to make a small butt look a little more plump.
The sides can be tied in girly bows or simple knots leaving the fabric to dangle for a more sexy style. The bikini top features string ties and the same ruffled edges which can flatter a small bust, but may not offer enough support for a larger bust. If you wanted to add padded inserts, there is already a black lining inside with cut-out compartments for them.
The other bikini I received doesn’t seem to be available online yet— sorry guys! But I’ll be sure to update this post with the link as soon as it’s available. The inside is still lined in black, but the outside pattern, which is similar in style to the Aztec Dream Bikini, features a palette of pastels in place of bright, bold, primary colors. The cut of the bottoms are of the Itsy Bikini Brief variation, which is essentially a thong bikini (on me anyway.) Instead of side ties, this bikini has a thick waistband that fits securely on the hipbone.
Of the two, this is the more sporty and functional swimwear option, leaving less to the imagination when compared to the frills and ruffles of the previous design. The string bikini top for this set is identical in cut and fit to the previous, which can mean only one thing: you can expect consistency in sizing.
When it comes to swimwear, I usually play it safe and choose a solid color swimsuit. Now I have two new bikinis with flashy, wild patterns; a much-needed step outside my comfort zone.
